I hope everyone is having fun following along with our Olioboard Holiday Moodboard Blog Hop. We’ve seen some amazing designs from some truly talented ladies and I don’t know about you, but I picked up some great tips along the way. Today I get to show you my holiday moodboard design. As you can see, I opted to go for a crafty and homemade Christmas look.
To begin with, I’m completely in love with Crate and Barrel’s felt and knit animal ornaments this year. While they are not homemade, they definitely give off that feel and are about as cute as it gets, if you ask me. I LOVE the skating and skiing penguins. Don’t they just make you smile? Anything that brings a smile to your face, fits well with my kind of Christmas.
I kept the crafty feel alive with some red and white felt ball garland from West Elm and loads of heavy knit items, like the cozy knit pillows, cute stocking and (a personal favourite) the grey and red knitted poufs from CB2. I believe these poufs also made an appearance in Covet Garden’s holiday moodboard post. I guess I’m not the only one loving these.
The simply wrapped gifts in brown paper with pompoms and buttons complete the homemade look in this design.
I kept the main room design relatively simple with a neutral backdrop to let the holiday colours be the spotlight. That about sums up my take on decorating for the holidays. Be sure to check back in on Sunday for a full recap of all six designs. If you missed any along the way, you can catch them in Sunday’s post. Thanks for following along. I hope this blog hop has given you some great ideas for creating your own look for the holidays.
